Youth STEP is a collaborative project partnered with the Northchild Development Group to collect ideas from the youth towards the redevelopment at the Plaza of Nations.

Currently, the Plaza of Nations is undergoing a major redevelopment plan under its owner, the Northchild Development Group. In partnership with YAC, Northchild Development aims to connect with students in Metro Vancouver, asking them “What they envision at the new Plaza of Nations”.

Youth STEP Phase 1 highlights how we can create new and innovative ideas from students by asking them for their opinions. With our first 2 presentations at UBC’s Design Discovery Program. Highschool and university students gave in input about what they would like to see at the new Plaza of Nations.

These ideas will then be sent to the Northchild Development Group for their internal review. We want to thank all the students who participated in Youth STEP Phase 1, and we hope that they learned about the future of the Plaza of Nations.

Youth STEP Phase 2 will begin shortly within the months of July and August. To learn more about Youth STEP, stay tuned through our website and Instagram for more updates.
