Architectural Workshop at the HR Macmillan Space Centre

On March 21, 2026, Young Architects for Change partnered with the HR Macmillan Space Centre to host an architectural/space event called “Living on the Moon”.
With 3 components to the event, including our signature Design Explorers Workshop in the morning. Participants were able to build their own Orion Space Module. After our workshop, participants will then watch a planetarium show at the Space Centre’s DOME theatre. An immersive cinema that showed a documentary on space exploration and moon habitation. Lastly, they were invited to our presentation in the auditorium, where we went over what we do at YAC and our full-day workshops.

This event is a new step for YAC to reach out to a broader community. With many students interested in space, YAC was able to connect how design impacts space exploration. From space rocket designs to possible lunar habitation, it was a full day of fun learning.

Thank you to the HR Macmillan Space Centre for partnering with YAC to host this event. We look forward to partnering with more community organizations to better our community through architecture and design.
