Architectural Workshop

On November 14 and 15, 2025, Young Architects for Change was invited by the City of Surrey to host a series of design/architectural workshops under Surrey’s Kids Conference. This initiative hosted by Surrey is one of many youth focused projects where the city empowers the next generation!
With YAC on board, we brought our Design Explorers Workshop to Fleetwood Community Centre, Surrey. With 2 workshops a day, our team was able to host over 120 students and teach them about basic design processes, and even helping students create their own Dream Rooms!

Throughout the workshop, many students were excited to learn about how we can use craft to recreate our imagination. Using simple materials and tools, these campers not only recreated their dream rooms, but acted as interior designers. Where choosing the right materials and colors were essential to their design.

We want to thank the City of Surrey for the continuous support for youth. It was a great experience for our team members to connect with the youth of Surrey, and share our skills in design. We look forward to participating and collaborating with Surrey in many more projects to come!
