Young Architects for Change (YAC) is actively engaging the community through media and news networks, spreading awareness of our mission to inspire and empower young designers. Young Architects for Change was featured in Victoria News for creating a detailed Lego model of the Malahat SkyWalk as part of a charity design competition. The project was built for the Brick by Brick event, which challenges teams to recreate iconic B.C. landmarks using Lego. YAC chose the Malahat SkyWalk because of its strong connection to nature and its distinctive spiral tower and elevated forest walkway. Our model carefully captured the curved boardwalk, lookout tower, and overall experience of the site. The build earned an award for best representing British Columbia. Following the competition, the model was set to be displayed at the Malahat SkyWalk for visitors to see.
